The second stage of the investment programme at Henderson will be completed by 4th February 2008 which will see significant improvements to all Henderson up and over garage doors.

Improvements include:

The expansion of the Premiere steel door range to include Castle door styles ,options and finishes.

The introduction of a new narrow-fit steel frame along side the existing 75mm steel frame for single size doors.

The introduction of the unique 'seat-belt 'locking system across all up annd over doors.

A new brochure will be available in the second half on January.

On Monday 4th February a new garage door price list will be introduced with a general
increase of 5% across the range.

A PDF version is available now from Henderson , printed copies will be available from
21st January 2008.

Cardale have announced a price increase of 10% on their Heritage Range of timber doors
and a 15% increase on their Future range of timber doors doors. this is due to a dramatic increase in the cost of cedarwood.

Novoferm have recently installed a web based Customer Relation Management system . (CRM) to assist in managing all correspondence with their customers. The system enables them to keep a record of all conversations as well as documentation-including quotations,delivery schedules and special requirements. The installation has been a resounding success and you should now start to see the benefits in terms of improved customer service. Of course the system is only effective with accurate information so the more details you can provide i.e. email addresses. fitters mobiles etc the better.

Returns Procedure

With effect from 1st December we request all customers complete a claim request form to report all claims on Novoferm products. All returns will be given a unique case number
enabling us to track it through the system more effectively. On initial report of any claim to your account manager a case number will be given and a form will be faxed or emailed to you for completion,alternatively you can complete a form yourself -copies available from the office.

Sales Orders

With effect from 1st December Novoferm will no longer accept verbal orders for specials,all special orders must be placed in writing, this will avoid any unnecessary discrepancies.

A updated order form is available which should include the majority of Novoferm products.
We would really appreciate it if you could do your best to place all orders using the form ,this should ensure that items are not missed off and therefore meaning orders can be processed more efficiently.

New style transmitters are starting to come with Novomatic,Novoport and Vivoport operators. This is the initial step in an extension of the range of their operator family.

New Double Door.

Garador have announced the launch of a new double door construction which will be
introduced as a direct replacement to the existing door over the next few weeks.

This new double door will be identical in appearance from the outside as their existing door,
so therefore all the current brochures and price lists will remain unchanged,

The main change is to the boundry chassis which is currently 62mm deep which will now become 80mm (the same depth as the horizontal bracing) this change however does NOT
alter the timber frame requirements which remain as ex 75 x 75

The optional steel frame has also changed to provide an even more versatile fixing frame.
As most gear components have also changed the frame and gear packs from old doors will
not be compatible with these new ones, so therefore ensure these are not mixed if you have stock.

NEW MERLIN & REGENT PREMIERE DOORS

Henderson have announced major improvements to their Merlin and Regent steel up and over doors

During the last 12 months over £1m has been invested in new rolling mills spot welding equipment and assembly lines to significantly upgrade the production process.

The improved range will be introduced in two stages:

New Merlin and Regent styles will be introduced on Monday 3rd December 2007

Improvements will be made to the rest of the Premiere and Castle ranges in February 2008. Further information will be available in February 2008

Orders received for single Merlin or Regent doors up to the close of business on Friday 30th November will be fulfilled with an existing style door.

All orders for single Merlin or Regent doors received from Monday 3rd December 2007 (including all standard and made to measure sizes) will be fulfilled with the new design of Regent and Merlin doors.

There are 500 new Merlin and Regent doors instock ready for introduction

This product upgrade is part of a major on-going programme of investment in Henderson products which will include sales options ,colours and simpler installation.

As part of their continued search for new products, Select have been manufacturing a matching angle fixed to the front of the side frames as an optional extra when ordering their laminated rosewood or golden oak doors up to 7'0 high.

However due to the length of the material they are are unable to do the same for the header.

Hormann have announced that their new range of Series 2000 imperial sized Rosewood Decograin ,one piece and sectional doors will be available from November 1st.

Rosewood is similar in colour to the Mahogany finish ,but better compliments the latest
trends in PVCu windows and trims.

These dates are the latest forecast due dates for product orders to be received at Verwood

To prove the strength of their doors Wessex have carried out an impact test based on the official authorised FENSA CEN (prEN 12600) compliance test for impact resistance of double glazed structures.

This test impacts a pre-calculated force onto the test object and if it shatters it fails if it withstands the impact it passes !

There is no recognised test for garage doors -so this was considered to be the closest alternative.

Resulting from this Wessex have produced a DVD showing just how strong their 3 Crown
GRP is ,shrugging off the impact without damage.

Also on the DVD is a demonstration of the strength of their prototype T3 range,
which is being developed in response to the growing need for greater door security strength and impact resistance.

The SWS development team have redesigned the endplates which will improve installation and make them slightly lighter.

Key points are:

• The endplate slots have been enlarged ,allowing easier insertion of the hexagonal bar for the overide
• Edges have been rounded to improve the finish and reduce health & safety risk
• The tabs have been removed as research has shown these to be a redundant feature
• The octagonal plate must be secured in place using the 3 No 8 x3/8 pan head screws supplied.

The Sommer - 2 Command transmitter "S"

In addition to its 4 command transmitter in stainless steel,SOMMER has now added the new 2-Command transmitter "S" to its product range.

The new transmitter has the same reliable technology as its 4-Command version and draws many elements from its design. The only difference is that the 2-Command transmitter does not have a stainless steel casing.For this reason it is equipped with a small metal snap hook for attaching it to a keyring. SOMMER has also reinforced the plastic in this part.

Working closely with Sikkens, Cardale able move to a clear finish on their Euro Oak Doors.

To achieve this Cardale have redesigned its EuroOak range which are now constructed from solid oak mouldings and engineered oak infil panels.

Engineered oak has a composite timber core to provide improved stability against weathering and ageing induced distortion.

All doors are then fully finished in a Sikkens clear satin varnish over the natural colour . This finish has a 12 month guarantee. Doors will no longer be supplied using any other system or in an unfinished state.

Over the last 18 Months Henderson have been working hard to improve their range or garage doors-resulting in quicker lead -times,more finishes and a wider choice than ever

Following these improvements they are able to extend the length of the guarantee on all Henderson doors.

With effect from Monday 16th July, all Henderson garage doors will carry a 10 year guarantee and Henderson operators will come with a 5 year guarantee.

NEWS FROM CARDALE GARAGE DOORS

Further to the news of their price increase, Cardale have introduced a new Parking Sensor Kit which is available for the AutoEntry & AutoPro DC ops and Thermoglide doors.

Thermoglide doors also have a number of changes to its control options ,notably a door position indicator and a range of wireless controls inc, Keyswitches, Keypad & an up/down Wall control.

The popular Rosewood finish has been added to both Thermoglide & Steel Line doors . Also the following colour changes apply: Racing Green replaced with Juniper - Burgundy replaced with Dark Red.

Window options have also been added to side hinged doors, mirroring the up & over range.

1 door = £10.00
2 doors = £7.50
3 or 4 doors = £5.00

AMENDMENT TO OPENING TOLERANCES – GRP RETRACTABLE DOORS
In response to customer feedback, I am pleased to confirm that Wessex doors have
increased the panel size on all one-piece retractable doors.This has been done to reduce the visible side gaps between door and frame.

All retractable one-piece doors are now being built with a nominal 7mm side gap, rather than the 10mm incorporated previously.  The result of this change is a larger panel size, giving a smaller side gap in the closed position, thus making for a more attractive installation.

It is important that frame dimensions are closely adhered to by the installer when fitting, to ensure there is no binding between door and frame.

New Colour Swatch Samples
To simplify the process and produce a superior finish, Wessex will be switching the design of colour swatches from a square to a circular format.  This change will provide samples with a more uniform and tidier finish, and make the process more efficient.  These new swatches
will be phased into circulation over the next few weeks.

A new way of working with you
We have been under going some internal re-organisation at Novoferm.  As a result of this and in response to customer feedback, we have decided to put in to place a new way of managing each of our customer’s accounts.

Therefore with effect from 2nd April as well as your external Sales Representative, you will also have a direct office contact who will act as your Account Manager, and aim to resolve
any day-to-day issues and queries.  You will of course still be able to contact other members of our office staff but it is hoped that you will make full use of your Account Manager to build
a good working relationship and therefore give you more continuity.

Your new Account Manager will be in touch within the next couple of weeks to introduce themselves and to talk through any issues you have,  this could be anything from special prices you require to delivery issues to account queries etc.  Your External Sales Representative will also continue to make regular visits to you.
